Camp Updates: God's Will

Hi Guys,

Just wish to share with you the updates about the camp. Please share/forward this to all your youths.

As I write this we are only 12 days away from RADIANT ‘09

It has indeed been a challenging time preparing for the camp. Our finances are still in a deficit, fund-raising has been lower than expected, several organisations have rejected our grant request, and to top it all off, we were told by Seri Malaysia only a week back that our booking has been cancelled as we were unable to upfront a 50% deposit (RM7K) while another organization was able to book the hall for a longer period and pay the necessary money. It was a lesson learned and a painful one.

You are probably thinking “Wow, this has got to be bad! Negative news all the way!” But dear brothers and sister. I am writing this not to share our sadness or our fear but rather to let everyone know that in the midst of all this complications, God’s Will can never be stopped. His plans for His youths will reign.

The organisers are cheerful and weirdly happy. While we are concerned and work hard to solve nagging problems as they arise, we are actually 100% confident that our finances will be met, the venue will be fine, the speakers will touch the youths and the Spirit will bring forth a revival. My fellow Exco brothers James, Jaime, Matthew, our counsellors Mr. Sam & Mr. Clarence and our pastors Ps. Seeni & Ps. Jerry are meeting frequently (sometimes all the way up to 12am) to discuss and plan and we always leave the meetings knowing that our camp is in safe hands. God’s hands. On top of that all 10 local chapter Presidents are continuously raising funds, selling T-Shirts and finding advertisements. My thanks to all of you.

What allows us to be so confident? God’s promise. Simply faith in His promise. I know most you have been praying for it and we even had the 10 day chain prayer with all the local chapters. We will soon be posting info and pictures of the various prayer programmes initiated by the local chapters. With this much prayer, imagine the confidence the organisers have? And by organisers I include all local Presidents.

Let me share with you an example. After we lost the booking for Seri Malaysia and while panicking and running around my office room like a chicken, I was moved to start searching for other locations. I contacted more than 6 different resorts relaying our problem. Bro. James was also busy searching for possible venues. Within the same day God gave us hope in a new location. Casa Rachado Resort in PD. They were willing to give us the same package price. I was still sceptical, but when I received the quotation the next day, I was overjoyed. The pictures of the place looked GOOD and the price was right.

Bro. Sam and Bro. James joined me for a visit on Sunday after service at Sg. Pelek. We confirmed that Casa Rachado was a right choice for RADIANT ’09. And we could safely say, it was God alone who guided us to that location (we immediately paid a RM1000 deposit, lesson learned). That is an example of God’s promise! His Will. His Plans.

So to Him be all Glory!

Presenting RADIANT '09

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.  - Matthew 5:14-16
